Villisca Ax Murder House

The Josiah B. and Sara Moore House, located in Villisca, Iowa, gained infamy in June 1912 when it became the site of a brutal and unsolved murder. On a seemingly pleasant summer night, eight unsuspecting victims—six of them children—were bludgeoned to death as they slept following a church service. The gruesome crime left the small town in shock and disbelief.
